“I’m going home with the feeling that I’ve created a lot of chances without scoring. The most important thing is that the team won and has climbed the table and are back where we need to be.”

How important has Paulo Fonseca’s faith in you been?

“Very. The coaching staff have helped me ever since they arrived. They’ve had me training on my own a lot to build up my fitness and now the results are showing. I’ve played three games this week and I feel good, which is important. I need to keep this up.”

Is this your best performance since you joined Roma?

“I definitely feel a lot better. It’s clear that the continuity I’m getting now is helping me – it gives me more confidence in my play and in the dribble. I lost a bit of confidence last season with the injuries and the decisions made by the coach. It’s important that we keep this up. The team is in good shape and has belief. We know we can achieve big things.”
