Roma Women kick off new season on Sunday!

Roma Women face AC Milan in the opening game of the 2019-20 Serie A season on Sunday afternoon - with the game broadcast live on the club's social media channels!

The game - which has also been chosen by Sky Sport Italia for live coverage in Italy - is being broadcast on Roma TV too, meaning the game can also be distributed across the club's Twitter and Facebook accounts.

The game at Stadio Tre Fontane, which pits last season's third and fourth-placed sides against each other, gets underway at 12:30 local time.

Things do not get any easier for the Giallorosse, with their first away trip of the season coming against last season's runners-up, Fiorentina.

Other games like to have a pivotal impact at the top of the table, against Juventus and Inter Milan, take place in November and December respectively.

See the full fixture list below - although be advised that some game dates could be changed slightly for television or other organisational purposes.

Inter Milan and Empoli are the two new additions to Serie A this season, following their promotion from Serie B last term.

Pink Bari and Orobica Bergamo were relegated from the top-flight at the end of the 2018-19 campaign - but, following the unfortunate liquidations of Chievo Verona Valpo and Atalanta Mozzanica, the decision was made to restore both sides and retain the 12-team structure.

This season's Coppa Italia campaign is scheduled to get underway on the 29 September, with the Serie B sides beginning their campaign at that point.

Serie A sides will enter the competition in mid-December, with the final currently pencilled in for 27 May 2020.

    FAMILIAR FACES

Three players - Rosalia Pipitone, Elisa Bartoli and Annamaria Serturini - appeared in all 22 Serie A games last season, and all three are back once again for the new campaign after representing Italy during the summer Women's World Cup.

They are joined by Agnese Bonfantini and Giada Greggi (who both made 21 appearances), as Betty Bavagnoli's side retains a familiar feel to it following the debut campaign.

Defender Federica Di Criscio (15 appearances last season), meanwhile, will make her 200th Serie A appearance whenever she next takes the field for Roma in the competition.

    NEW ARRIVALS

While a lot of players are returning, the squad has also undergone something of an overhaul in the summer. Manuela Giugliano, who represented AC Milan last season, adds another Italy international to the team's ranks - while Tecla Pettenuzzo, Camelia Ceasar and Kaja Erzen bring in Serie A experience, competition for places and bags of potential to the group.

Plenty of eyes will be on both Andrine Hegerberg and Andressa Alves, two high-profile names who arrive in Rome from huge European clubs (Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona respectively). Hegerberg, an all-action midfielder, should add control and composure to Bavagnoli's central unit - while the Brazilian Andressa figures to add both class and creativity.

It is in attack, whoever, where perhaps the change in options will be most notable. Alongside the aforementioned Andressa (who could play in attack or midfield), the arrivals of Amalie Thestrup and Lindsey Thomas add both great pace and an eye for goal to the group, and will undoubtedly reduce the pressure on Serturini and Bonfantini to produce every week.
