On Wednesday evening, a fire ripped through an apartment in the Centocelle section of Rome, leaving four people injured.
But things could have been a lot worse were it not for 25-year-old Catarucci – who rushed to the aid of those trapped in the apartment and helped them to escape.
Catarucci suffered from smoke inhalation as a result of his actions.
A huge Roma fan – travelling home and away to follow the team - as news of his brave response spread Catarucci received a special message from his hero, Totti.
