    Bavagnoli demands response against Milan

Roma Women coach Betty Bavagnoli hopes her side will show a positive response against AC Milan on Wednesday, following Sunday's disappointing defeat at home to Atalanta Mozzanica.

The Giallorosse fell to a 3-0 home defeat against the only side that can deny them a top-four finish in Serie A, in a rare poor performance from the team.

And Bavagnoli, while away Sunday's performance was not up to scratch, believes her side is ready to make amends on Wednesday against Milan.

“The squad have been very focused over the last few days," Bavagnoli told Roma TV.

"The girls know that they did not deliver the performance they needed to on Sunday against Atalanta Mozzanica. Together, we have tried to up our levels of concentration and focus.

“On Wednesday we will try to play our way again, taking control of the ball, because this is our philosophy. We respect Milan but we are not going to take a step back."

The away game - which was moved forward from the weekend due to international call-ups - could also see an important player return to the fold after a knee injury.

“Finally, we are able to welcome Claudia Ciccotti back into the group," Bavagnoli added.

"That is a big boost for us heading into the final phase of the campaign.”

The game on Wednesday gets underway at 15:00 local time. It will be streamed live on Twitter.
