Captain Elisa Bartoli led the side out for the game in Verona - alongside mascot Allegra Moro, the younger half-sister of Giallorosse full-back Angelica.
As part of the pre-match formalities, the host club decided to present three mascots with each side. With the Soffia family hailing from nearby Abano Terme - and Soffia having previously played her football in Verona - the sister had the opportunity to walk out with Betty Bavagnoli's side.
With Angelica on the bench for the game, however, it was club captain Bartoli who stepped in to the role.
Soffia's family were watching on from the stands as Roma ran out 5-0 winners - with Angelica coming on as a late substitute.
After the game, Bartoli posted on Instagram about the moment.
"To be an idol is a great thing - and a huge responsibility," Bartoli wrote.
"It was a great honour and huge pleasure to have taken the hand of your little sister today, Angelica. I thank you.
"These are the beautiful things that always stay with you."
"What a big heart you have, captain," Soffia later responded.
