International: Italy top group, Jamaica say goodbye

Roma Women captain Elisa Bartoli started yet again for the Azzurre - although she was withdrawn midway through the second half after picking up a yellow card.

Italy went down after a second half Marta penalty but, thanks to their superior goal difference, still finished above Australia and Brazil in the final group standings.

They will now face either China or Nigera in the last-16 of the competition next Tuesday.

Elsewhere, Jamaica's debut World Cup campaign came to an end - although they did score their first-ever World Cup goal in a 4-1 loss to Australia.

Roma defender Allyson Swaby started her third match, but Carter watched from the bench.
