Sunday’s derby match will be the 181st time the two sides have faced each other. Roma have won 67 and drawn 63.

We have chosen ten games against Lazio that stand out in our memories!

    10. Lazio 0-1 Roma
    18 March 1990

A derby at Flaminio, one decided in the end by Rudi Voeller's great header from a Giuseppe Giannini cross - after which the flying German's celebration under the Curva had the fans going wild!

    9. Lazio 0-2 Roma
    23 October 1983

A derby made famous by the brilliant tifo that was unveiled before it - a huge 'TI AMO' ('I love you'), this game was eventually won thanks to goals from Sebino Nela and Roberto Pruzzo.

    8. Lazio 0-4 Roma
    13 November 1960

Pedro Manfredini - no stranger to going on impressive goalscoring runs - scored three times in the opening 37 minutes in this one, laying the table for an emphatic win for Alfredo Foni's side. Roma, at the end of that year the Giallorossi would win the Inter-City Fairs Cup, while Lazio ended up being relegated to Serie B.

    7. Lazio 0-1 Roma
    8 December 1929

It was Rodolfo Volk who ensured Roma emerged victorious in the first Derby della Capitale in history, delivering an unforgettable win to the Roma fans who had descended on the Stadio della Rondinella in their droves.

"Nine-tenths of the fans who arrived at the Rondinella were dressed in red and yellow," as one newspaper wrote the next day. "You could say that Lazio played that day... as the away side."

Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa will always hold a privileged place in Roma hearts for this - after Juan Iturbe's opener, it was Mapou's late strike that ensured Roma won the game, and in the process finished second and qualified directly for the Champions League. Oh, the celebrations that sparked!

At the time this win created a league record: 11 consecutive victories for the Giallorossi. Despite an injury to Francesco Totti that (at the time) left his World Cup hopes in doubt, it was Rodrigo Taddei and Alberto Aquilani (on his first start for the club) who put Lazio to the sword. Totti, watching on crutches, celebrated with his teammates afterwards..

    4. Lazio 0-3 Roma
    27 November 1994

It had been eight years since Roma had actually won a derby at this point - so the emphatic 3-0 victory, with goals from Abel Balbo, Massimiliano Cappioli and Daniel Fonseca, had been waited for a long time. Both players and staff celebrated accordingly, with the scenes under the Curva after the game still retaining a special place in the hearts of all who experienced it to this day...

Ah, the sort of victory you often dream about. Lazio went ahead (through Rocchi), missed a penalty (through Floccari) and ended up losing in injury time - as Mirko Vucinic struck twice for the Giallorossi!

Mention Paulo Negro's own goal to any Roma fan, and you are guaranteed to raise a smile. On this occasion the victory was worth more than just city bragging rights - the three points proved another vital boost as the Giallorossi continued on the path to a Scudetto victory, taking that badge off the Lazio shirt and putting it on the Giallorossi...

    1. Lazio 1-5 Roma
    11 March 2002

The Vincenzo Montella derby to some - the striker scoring four goals in a dominant performance for the Giallorossi. To others, perhaps, it is the Totti Chip derby - arguably the finest derby goal for the Giallorossi, scored by the No. 10 with an almost perfect touch. And then, the celebration: A 'sei unica' ('You are the one') t-shirt - dedicated to both his girlfriend (now wife) and to the club - that instantly became iconic.
