Dzeko himself scored the game's clinching goal - building on Steven Nzonzi's first-half opener to wrap up another three points for coach Eusebio Di Francesco.
After a run of positive results, the low moment of September's defeat to Bologna appears to be behind the group.
“The main thing is we are winning now,” Dzeko said.
“It was not an easy period but we worked our way through it, we have now won four games in a row heading into the international break and we have fixed things a bit.”
When asked what Di Francesco wanted from on the pitch, he added: “To help the squad when we are in trouble, to go and hold up the ball when we were in difficulty. We did well – we were a bit lucky with the penalty, but we’ll take that.”
