The trip formed part of the ‘Play is an Art’ programme, run in conjunction with Roma Cares and Roma Capitale.
At the event – organised with help from Geco Animiation – Roma managing director Mauro Baldissoni and Rome sports minister Daniele Frongia also participated.
“Once again, Roma Cares has tried to play a positive role within this great city – this time to help those children less fortunate than others,” said De Sanctis.
The children from SOS Villaggi dei Bambini, an international organization that provides support and assistance to children without suitable family support structures, were guided around the museums – before being asked to complete drawings of some of the artworks that most inspired them. Assisted by professional artists, the finished drawings were subsequently donated to AS Roma and the city of Rome.
At the end of the day the children were presented with certificates and AS Roma gifts.
“This is the third project we have done with Roma Cares, and we are always proud when we are able to implement something useful and concrete like this,” said Frongia. “It’s a great experience for the kids, and for us too.”
