Last week Roma legend Francesco Totti made the dream of one fan come true – as he welcomed Michele Fiscaletti to Trigoria.
Fiscaletti, 18, was among the victims of the Lanterna Azzurra nightclub disaster in Corinaldo late last year, as confusion at a rap concert left six dead and many more seriously injured.
Fiscaletti was left in a coma for a number of days and, knowing about his love for Roma and Totti, his friends worked together to get a message to the Roma legend through social media.
Totti, who saw the message, soon responded – firstly advising him to rest up and regain his health, and then to come and visit him at the club.
Last weekend, Michele was finally in a position to come to Trigoria – where he spent time with Totti and was given a guided tour of the setup.
He also met sporting director Monchi, and was invited to observe part of the day's training.
Posting later on Instagram, Michele explained how his love for Totti began when he was just six – how he fell in love with him as a member of the Italy team, and thus began supporting him and Roma too.
“Today I can say that I have realised the dream I have had since I was small,” he added.
“An incredible feeling, one I will never forget. A special thank you to all those who helped to make this wish come true. Thank you, Capitano!”
