The incredible story of Michela's once-in-a-lifetime Roma trip!

Passionate Roma fan Michela won the chance to travel with the team for December's game against Juventus - an incredible experience that, in the end, she is not the only one who will remember forever...

'Vieni in Trasferta con Noi' ('Come Away with Us') is a recently launched club initiative that gives passionate Roma fans from around the world the opportunity to travel with the first-team squad for specially selected away matches.

In recent times lucky Giallorossi fans have joined Eusebio Di Francesco's squad for games in Florence, Moscow and Kharkiv - with the latest competition giving a fan the chance to join the club for the pre-Christmas appointment with Juventus in Serie A.

The draw - which is made completely at random from all entries, as per Italian legal rules - was won by Giallorossi fan Rosa, who had entered with the idea of bringing her sister, Michela, on the trip.

"When we entered, I said, 'This is ours'," Rosa said. "I won this for her. We have a special relationship - she has always been able to transmit her passion for Roma and zest for life."

Michela is as passionate a Roma fan as anyone could hope to meet. She is also blind, but that has not stopped her following the team ardently since she began supporting the club as a nine-year-old.

"That was when I started to enjoy supporting the side," she said. "I remember the goal [Francesco] Totti scored against Juve [in 2013] - what a rocket!"

Together Michela and Rosa travelled with the squad to and from Turin - flying out with the squad on December 21 and returing, after full time at Juventus Stadium, in the early hours of December 23.

Prior to that they had the opportunity to meet all the players and staff, with Michela taking the opportunity to give each of them some words of encouragement and advice.

Perhaps the most special moment came late on the night before the game, as Michela filmed a short update for the video about her trip. As she recited from memory some of the words from Francesco Totti's famous retirement speech at the Stadio Olimpico, the man himself walked through the lobby.

Totti stopped, standing behind her and listening as his own words were being read back to him. Eventually he interjected; the two going on to share an emotional moment.

"Who wrote that then?" Totti asked.

"You did, of course!" Rosa responded. "I wrote those words on my heart."

The result of the game did not go quite to plan - but that was perhaps the only disappointing moment of an unforgettable trip.
