Buffon: Roma should be feared

Buffon: "Roma should be feared"

Gianluigi Buffon believes Roma are a fearsome outfit and Juventus will need to keep the Giallorossi as far away as possible in the league standings

"The Giallorossi are a dangerous team that we should be afraid of," declared the Bianconeri captain in an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport. "The further away Roma are in the league, the better for us."

Italy's No.1 released these comments two days prior to the 20:45 CET kick-off on Sunday between Luciano Spalletti's men and the side coached by Massimiliano Allegri. Buffon also revealed his thoughts on this season's title race, which has seen Juventus come roaring back into contention in second place – two points behind Napoli – thanks to a run of ten back-to-back victories.

"The league is finely balanced and the leaders are changing almost every Sunday. Nevertheless, there's a long way to go and the games are open. If we win, Roma will be ten points off the pace which will be fundamental."

Finally, Gigi had a word to say on his latest encounter with Francesco Totti with whom he won the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

"There will be a lot of fondness coming across Francesco again but perhaps a touch of sadness too, thinking back to the time we spent together in the Italy youth teams as youngsters full of dreams. Those were wonderful years."
