Florenzi: Three welcome points

Florenzi: Three welcome points

Alessandro Florenzi hailed Roma's performance in securing three crucial points in their 2-1 win at Udinese

"We did what we had to," revealed the Giallorossi full-back. "That said, we had to dig in more than we would have liked and more than Roma should in the second half. We should have killed the game off early and avoid conceding that goal. But we come away with three welcome points."

Along with Edin Dzeko who bagged the opener, the Italy international starred in the win at the Friuli, thanks to a superb piece of skill in the opposition box.

Had I shot, the defender would have blocked it like in the first half. I tried to control it and it all came off perfectly, so I'm pleased."

Roma's eighth straight win in the league keeps them third, five points clear of Inter and Fiorentina.

"We're taking things one game at a time," concluded Florenzi. "We've got the right approach and we need games like today's. The opposition have to adapt to your playing style and not the other way round. The 4,000 travelling fans were simply something else."
