Euro 2016: Digne congratulates Payet on stunning winner against Romania

The European Championships kicked off on Friday evening with host nation France securing a 2-1 win over Romania in the opening game.

Olivier Giroud headed Les Bleus in front in the 57th minute but Bogdan Stancu levelled from the penalty spot eight minutes later. Dimitri Payet then curled in a stunning 89th-minute winner to hand Didier Deschamps' side the points.

After the match, Roma left-back Lucas Digne – who didn't feature in the Group A encounter – took to Instagram to express his delight with the victory and congratulate his national team-mate.

“An important win today. Congrats to my lil' bro @PayetDimitri27,” the 22-year-old posted.

Digne played 42 matches and scored three goals for Roma last season.
