Euro 2016: Szczesny and Rudiger react to Poland and Germany wins on Instagram

Wojciech Szczesny and Toni Rudiger took to Instagram on Sunday evening to celebrate wins by both Poland and Germany in their opening matches at Euro 2016

Polish goalkeeper Szczesny – who played the full 90 minutes of Poland’s 1-0 defeat of Northern Ireland – posted a photo of himself with national team-mate Grzegorz Krychowiak on the team bus as the squad were returning to their hotel in Nice.

Szczesny expressed his satisfaction at getting the win and called for Poland to now switch their focus to their next game.

German defender Antonio Rudiger also used Instagram to comment on Germany’s 2-0 win over Ukraine. Rudiger – who was ruled out of Euro 2016 on Tuesday after sustaining an injury in a training session in Evian – posted a photo of defensive team-mate Jerome Boateng’s crucial goal-line clearance with the caption: “Photo of the day! Well done on the win, Germany.”
