Antonio Rudiger, who scored only his second goal for Roma on Sunday, has praised the supporters who packed into Stadio Olimpico to cheer on the players for the last time at home this season.
The German defender, who doubled the Giallorossi's advantage with a close-range header in the 39th minute, revealed just what it meant to see the Olimpico almost full.
"It was wonderful," claimed Rudiger. "The fans were brilliant during the lap around the pitch at the end as well. I can only thank them for their support."
You had to win today and you did just that.
"Chievo weren't an easy opponent to face but we played well and could have scored even more. Overall we were pleased with 3-0 at the final whistle. I'm happy that we won and I got my second ever goal for Roma. We scored three and didn't concede one. That's important."
Will you get together this evening to watch Torino v Napoli?
"I don't know, we haven't decided yet. We'll probably do something but in any case we'll follow the game closely."
After a bit of scepticism at the beginning, do you feel the love from the fans now?
"This makes me really happy. It's true, there was a bit of scepticism at the start of the season but I didn't let it get to me, I stayed determined. For me, the main thing is that the coach has faith in me."
