In 2015, Roma launched the Indonesian-language Twitter account @OfficialRoma_ID but the new local-language website will now allow the club to deliver a much deeper and fulfilling content experience for fans online.
The new website – asroma.com/id – will include all the main features of the club’s existing Italian and English websites, including daily news, exclusive player interviews, photo galleries, live match stats, curated social media feeds and live and on-demand videos.
In addition, the club’s new digital media team in Jakarta will be producing localised content directly relevant to fans in Indonesia.
To accompany the launch of the website, the club has also rolled out a new Indonesian-language Facebook page, meaning fans in Indonesia can now engage with the club on the new official website, Twitter and Facebook.
“Indonesia is an extremely important country for AS Roma,” claimed Paul Rogers, Head of Digital at Roma. “The club has a incredibly fanatical fan base in Indonesia, as was demonstrated when the first team visited Jakarta in the summer of 2015.
"Over 25,000 fans turned up to see an intra-squad friendly match and the Italian players, in particular, were amazed that the local fans knew all the old Curva Sud songs. After Egypt and Italy, Indonesia is the third largest country in the world for AS Roma on social media in terms of followers and today’s announcement means our Indonesian supporters can now enjoy a much a richer content experience every day.”
The launch of the Indonesian website follows the successful unveiling of the club’s first official Arabic website two weeks ago and means AS Roma now have official websites in four different languages.
