Friday was a day the Roma players will never forget following their audience with Pope Francis, and Francesco Totti was keen to convey his feelings after visiting the Vatican
“It's been a fantastic day meeting Pope Francis and tomorrow we have a match against San Lorenzo at the Stadio Olimpico. Come along and let's help the earthquake victims,” the Giallorossi captain said, via the club's official Twitter account.
The squad's visit to the Vatican comes at a time when the whole of Italy and the wider world is united in solidarity and prayers for the victims of the earthquake which struck central Italy on 24 August.
The club has decided to donate all proceeds from Saturday's friendly match against San Lorenzo to the Central Italy Earthquake Emergency fund.
