The Giallorossi know two wins from their final two games - starting at the Bentigodi on Saturday - will secure at least second in Serie A.
Do you feel a hint of regret after watching the Coppa Italia final this week?
“Well, yes, because it could have been us there, but we struggled in the two legs of the semi-final and we didn't do our jobs properly. We can't change the past though; we're just looking forward now.”
Roma look a different side in the league, with 81 points and a whole host of impressive stats...
“That's right. It's not easy to get 81 points but we need another six now, otherwise our wins against AC Milan and Juve will have been for nothing. We have to pull out all the stops to ensure we pick up the points we need.”
What was the mood like going into the game against Juve? How did you prepare for it knowing Napoli's result?
“It was like a derby for us and it was hard because Napoli had won so we needed to win as well. After we conceded the opener, we did very well to stay focused and not give up, and we kept things tight. We carried on playing our game and that's what enabled us to turn it around and win what was a very tough match.”
The fans are a little worried now because Roma often seem to disappoint after a great result...
“I think we're a mature side but, as we've said before, we need to show that on the pitch. These last two games are perhaps the most important of the season. We must stay fully focused because otherwise everything good we've done so far will go up in smoke.”
The transfer rumour mill is starting up already. Where do you see yourself next season?
“I'm very happy at Roma – I think you can see that. My heart is here and I'm thinking of Roma and nothing but Roma.”
