Fazio named in European Team of the Year

The 31-year-old, who signed a contract extension with the Giallorossi in the summer, was named the top central defender in Europe's top five leagues over the course of the last 12 months - and took his place in the best XI alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kevin de Bruyne.

Fazio finished the year with an average performance of 7.38 - the best such score for an out-and-out centre-back among those who played at least 30 games.
