Adidas is back: Long-term partnership with AS Roma set to begin

The first time that the Giallorossi colours were showcased on an adidas jersey was on 19 April 1978 as the team ran out 2-1 winners over Verona on home soil. Under a month later on 7 May 1978, beloved club captain Agostino Di Bartolomei found the net wearing the very same kit. Other notable figures in Roma’s history such as Sergio Santarini and Giancarlo De Sisti also got to wear that stylish shirt.

Between 1991 and 1994, adidas won over the hearts of the Giallorossi faithful by churning out some of the most popular Roma kits of all time.

Those years were filled with huge passion, memorable clashes and unforgettable moments that will live long in the memory of Roma fans from a certain generation, with many cult heroes turning out for the club in that period, such as Rudi Voeller, Thomas Haessler, Giuseppe Giannini, Abel Balbo, Ruggiero Rizzitelli, and Aldair to name but a few. None other than Francesco Totti made his Roma debut in Serie A on 28 March 1993 wearing an adidas jersey in an away trip at Brescia.
