Pellegrini and Celik react to win over Udinese

“I’m happy because it’s my first goal [in Serie A],” said Zeki. “It’s very important for me. I try to score in every match, so I’m really happy today.”

Pellegrini also spoke about Celik when he was interviewed immediately afterwards. 

Here’s what Lorenzo had to say:

Celik is among the players who’ve improved because we can see he’s more confident with the ball at his feet. He’s kind of the embodiment of Gian Piero Gasperini’s work as the coach is improving everyone. Is he helping you become more complete players?

“Absolutely. I’ve already said that it’s a great opportunity for us to be able to work with a coach like him and we’re making the most of it. As I’ve always said, this is a group that wants to do well, work hard and make sacrifices. As for Celik, in my opinion, and perhaps this hasn’t been said enough, is an exceptional guy.

“As a footballer, it’s one thing: you can play well or badly, just like anyone else. But as a person, he’s fantastic. Since the day he arrived, he’s settled into the group in an amazing way. He’s been with us for years now, always working hard, never saying a word out of place, so I’m over the moon when beautiful days like today come along for guys like him.”
