AS Roma stores to accept DigitalBits cryptocurrency

It will soon be possible to pay with Digitalbits in selected AS Roma stores.

“This is a big step for the DigitalBits community as we look to drive the adoption of crypto and Web3,” said Daniele Mensi, Managing Director at DigitalBits Foundation. “As one of the premier football clubs in the world with millions of fans worldwide, it is the perfect next step in this product-focused partnership to provide a consumer friendly onboarding experience to the next generation of web3 users.”

In line with the growing adoption of cryptocurrencies in retail, AS Roma embraces this technology, allowing its fans to make secure and fully digitised interactions. The DigitalBits and AS Roma integration will work by allowing consumers to pay with DigitalBits coins through AstraX mobile wallet by scanning a QR code. The payment is settled in just a few seconds and crypto-cashback can be redeemed immediately and entered directly into customers' wallets without having third party interventions or personal data processing. This process is fully decentralized and entirely managed by the DigitalBits blockchain with the support of Coinbar Pay processing.

In 2021, AS Roma signed a three-year partnership to expose the brand and the technology of DigitalBits, and it became the world's first professional football organization to embrace blockchain technology and lock in its commitment to technological advancement. This is the very first step and it will be further expanded..
