Tammy Abraham scored twice - taking his tally to 10 in Serie A so far - as Sergio Oliveira and Nicolo Zaniolo also both got on the scoresheet in the opening 45 minutes to power the Giallorossi to a third straight victory.
Empoli grabbed two back in the second half through Andrea Pinamonti and Nedim Bajrami but the hosts never got closer than that as Jose Mourinho ultimately saw his side see out the game with a measure of comfort.
The Giallorossi now have a short break before their next contest - they host Genoa at the Stadio Olimpico on February 6.
