Serturini targetting bounce back against Juventus

Roma Women are in action on Saturday afternoon, as they travel to face reigning champions Juventus in Serie A.

The Giallorosse go into the game looking to end a poor recent run of form in the league, as last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Florentia Sangimignano left then languishing in the bottom half of the table.

But Serturini, who scored Roma’s goal in that game to mark her 100th career Serie A appearance in style, believes the side have what it takes to start to turn things around.

Serturini has already scored five league goals this term, at a rate of one every 138 minutes – but scoring has not proven so easy for the team in general.

“If we look at the numbers then this is definitely the best start to the season I have had, but I don’t want to let up now,” Serturini told Sky Sport Italia.

“I want to keep improving with each game and make sure we get that next win as soon as possible, because we’ve been desperate for it.”

She added: “Clearly it’s not our best season, we are creating lots of chances but for some reason we’ve struggled to finish them off. On Sunday [against Florentia] we created 10 or 12 chances and yet we only ended up scoring once.

“Unfortunately the statistics tell the story, and we are 14 points off the top [of the table]. But we absolutely won’t give up, we want to work hard and improve the results and that starts on Saturday, where we want to bring home a positive result.”

Saturday’s game in Turin gets underway at 12:30 local time, and will be streamed live on Roma TV+.

The Giallorosse will also face Juventus again in the New Year – it was confirmed on Friday that this season’s Supercoppa Italia semi-finals will take place on January 6 in Chiavari.

Fiorentina and AC Milan meet in the other semi-final – with the final taking place at the same venue on Sunday 10 January.
