The 18-year-old midfielder started and scored against CSKA Sofia, although it was not enough as Roma eventually fell to a 3-1 defeat.
Nevertheless, the Primavera stalwart walked off proud of his individual efforts.
“This will be an unforgettable night for,” Milanese said.
“I’m delighted, but the result could definitely have been better. Nevertheless I’m happy to have got on the scoresheet.”
He added: “I’m a trequartista, playing off the striker – but I’ll play wherever the coach tells me to. I try to do the best I can in whatever position I’m told to fill.
“The coach repeated what he told me the last few times; to play the way I know how to, to stay calm. He said the same to my teammates. He reminds me I have the ability, so it’s just about taking that into the match.”
