Cristante happy to sacrifice for the team

Bryan Cristante spoke to the media following Roma's 0-0 draw with Hellas Verona on Saturday evening.

Here's what the Italy international - who played in the centre of defence throughout the 90 minutes - had to say about a draining game at the Bentegodi.

Given the game tonight, do Roma still need to buy another centre-back? How did you find it in a back three?

"It's not my job to choose who the club buys. [Centre-back] is not my role, but if the club needs my I can adapt to it."

You have the attributes to do it.

"I know it's a position that I can play and where I can improve - but it takes time to get better."

If the coach is ready to use you in defence, though, it means he believes in you.

"Without doubt. Above all, this is a game where the ball passes through the centre-backs a lot - so there's always the opportunity to start attacking moves."

The new ownership are very present. What's the feedback so far?

"I've seen them around the training centre over the last five days - they are always at Trigoria. We were all focused on preparing for this game. I don't know what their plans are, but we are here and we are ready for every game. Beyond that, we shall see."
