The decision means Betty Bavagnoli’s Roma side end the truncated campaign in fourth position, with six matches still to be completed.
Following guidelines previously outlined for the men’s league, the title will not be awarded to a team this season – but league leaders Juventus and second-placed Fiorentina will qualify for next season’s Women’s Champions League.
Orobica, meanwhile, have been relegated from the top-flight.
Following discussions between all parties, the decision was taken that it would not be possible to play the league's outstanding matches.
"The president has advised the councillors, based on the indications given by clubs and players on the resumption of the Serie A season," an FIGC statement said.
"The declared impossibility to resume the activity was noted, as had also emerged in the Assembly between the division’s teams, and as a result the Council has decided to call off the 2019-20 season.
“In order to define the final ranking, the league must apply the same criteria as in the men’s professional championships.”
