Roma 2-1 Parma: Micki and Veretout right the ship

Jordan Veretout scored the decisive goal of the game as Roma snapped their losing streak and emerged 2-1 winners against Parma on Wednesday.

The Giallorossi certainly made it tough for themselves, as they went behind early on at the Olimpico.

But an equaliser late in the first half from Henrikh Mkhitaryan erased that initial deficit - setting the stage for Veretout to find the top corner with a beautiful second half finish and ensure a first three points in four games for the side.

On another nervy night for Roma fans, the team got off to almost the worst start possible - as Juraj Kucka converted from the penalty spot after barely five minutes to give the visitors the lead.

Fonseca's side pushed and probed for an opening and certainly kept Luigi Sepe in the Parma goal busy; but it wasn't until Mkhitaryan coolly dispatched Bruno Peres's low cross that they really looked dangerous.

That strike came at the right time, however, as the hosts emerged for the second half with renewed confidence.

And in the end it was Veretout who decided the game, as he slotted home beautifully from 25 yards out.

The Giallorossi are back in action on Saturday - they face Brescia at the Mario Rigamonti stadium.
