Stat Attack: 10 facts to know before the derby

On Sunday evening the Giallorossi face Lazio in the Derby della Capitale - a huge game so early in the campaign.

Ahead of the match at the Olimpico, which gets underway at 18:00 local time, we've rounded up a few facts and details worth knowing about the game.

Never before has the derby taken place so early in the season - Matchday 2 is the earliest staging of the game ever.

The Giallorossi have drawn their last three away games in Serie A - not since January 2016 have they had a streak of four successive away draws.

Not since the 2011-12 season have Roma failed to win one of their first two games of the campaign. Last weekend Paulo Fonseca's side drew against Genoa.

Only Inter (24) had more shots than Roma's 23 on the first day of the season. Nine of those were on target.

Aleksandar Kolarov provided six passes leading to shots on the first weekend of the season - more than any other player in the league.

Lazio beat Sampdoria 3-0 and in the process had 13 shots from inside the box - more than any other side.

Roma are on a 10-match unbeaten run in Serie A - their best such run since going 20 games unbeaten up to September 2016.

Sunday will be the fifth time Roma have played on the first day of September in their history - winning three and drawing the other. The last time came in 2013, Roma winning 3-0 against Verona on that occasion.

This will be the 189th derby in history, in all competitions (competitive and otherwise). Roma lead the overall standings: 71 wins to Lazio's 53, with 64 draws.

Simone Inzaghi has faced Roma eight times as Lazio manager - winning three and drawing one.
