The Giallorosse scored four goals in their second consecutive match as they defeated Verona handily away from home. Manuela Giugliano and Amalie Thestrup scored their first goals in a Roma shirt, while Elisa Bartoli and Agnese Bonfantini added to the Giallorosse goal tally in the first half.
“Our pressing game was excellent today - that's exactly what I want to see from my girls. I told them I wanted to see a more mature performance, to see them managing the game better even in the difficult spells," the coach said after the match.
“They did really well and basically had the game wrapped up by half time, then we came under a bit of pressure after the break and were less in control.
“We're a team that can move the ball around well and we're very good on the break, as we showed today. However, we need to understand and manage certain situations better. There were times when we gave the ball away and that can't happen.
“It's a very exciting league this year and there won't be any easy games. It wasn't easy today either – Verona are a well-drilled side and they caused problems for us. I think we're going to have to play at 100% in every match.”
