With another game against Ternana to follow later in the afternoon, Paulo Fonseca's side ultimately put their Serie C opponents to the sword - although it took until almost half-time for Nicolo Zaniolo to break the deadlock.
In the second half the goals flowed, however, with captain for the day Davide Santon scoring almost immediately after an own goal had doubled Roma's advantage.
After Fonseca then changed his team around in the final 20 minutes, substitutes Cengiz Under, Alessandro Florenzi and Patrick Schick (twice) all took advantage of some tired legs to add to the final scoreline.
"I'm very pleased [to wear the captain's armband, even if it is just a friendly," Santon said afterwards.
"And then even luckier that I managed to mark the game with a goal!"
The side are back in action at 18:00.
