10. Roma-Bari 3-1, 2009-10

Just one week after surgery on his knee, Francesco Totti returned to availability - and Ranieri put him straight back into the side. The captain repaid his boss with a hat-trick - just the second of his career to that point. A free-kick, a penalty and a fine left-footed strike.

9. Roma-Fiorentina 3-1, 2009-10

The first home win for Ranieri, thanks to a brace from Totti and strike from Daniele De Rossi.

8. Roma-Lazio 2-1, 2010-11 Coppa Italia

A fourth derby victory for Ranieri, this one coming in the Coppa Italia. Marco Borriello opened the scoring, Hernanes equalised - but Fabio Simplicio ended up deciding the game for the Giallorossi.

7. Parma-Roma 1-2, 2009-10

With just three games left in the season, Roma had just lost at home to Sampdoria and no longer led the league - but the fans still believed and went to the Ennio Tardini in their droves. Totti and Taddei ensured they went home happy, and with belief still in the Scudetto dream.

6. Roma-Bayern Monaco 3-2, 2010-11

In the Champions League group stage, it was the turn of Bayern Munich to visit the Olimpico - having won 2-0 at home against Ranieri's side. It seemed like history would repeat when the Germans took a two goal lead but, after a second half to savour, Roma emerged victorious after goals from Borriello, De Rossi and Totti.

5. Roma-Lazio 1-0, 2009-10

Ranieri's first derby victory - but it would not be last. The hero was as unlikely as it was memorable: Marco Cassetti scoring the only goal.

4. Juventus-Roma 1-2, 2009-10

Roma had not won in Turin against Juventus for eight years - and didn't look like changing that when Alessandro Del Piero put his side in front. Totti equalised with a penalty, however, and then - in the very last minute - a sweeping counter-attack was finished off with an unforgettable header from John Arne Riise.

3. Roma-Atalanta 2-1, 2009-10

In a cut-and-thrust title race, Inter had drawn against Fiorentina the day before - giving Roma a gilt-edged chance to leapfrog them. Thanks to goals from Vucinic and Cassetti the Giallorossi did just that, although not without surviving a nervy finish following Tiribocchi's strike.

At the time Roma were first in the table but, after the first half at least, were behind on the pitch - as Rocchi put Lazio ahead. Ranieri, in one of the biggest tactical calls in the club's history, made the almost inconceivable call to substitute both Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi, for Rodrigo Taddei and Jeremy Menez.
