Roma Women captain Elisa Bartoli celebrated a milestone this weekend - as she made her 50th appearance for the Italian national team.
The Rome-born Bartoli started Italy's 2-1 win over Chile on Friday night - in a game that saw her Giallorosse teammate Annamaria Serturini make her debut for the Nazionale as a late substitute.
"To play for Italy is a dream, an honour, a responsibility," Bartoli said before the game.
"Representing Italy is something magical, you must be happy and try and play with a smile."
Bartoli is in line to play a key role for her country at next year's Women's World Cup in France.
"The World Cup is the pinnacle for women's football and I hope that it will help raise the profile of the game, because we deserve it - all women deserve it. To potentially play in it would be a dream, something I've hoped for since I was a child watching the games."
Bartoli is not the only Roma player in the current Italy squad, with Serturini, goalkeeper Rosalia Pipitone and winger Agnese Bonfantini also involved.
All four could play when the Azzurre face Wales in another friendly on Monday.
