The Giallorossi qualified from their group as runners-up - behind current competition holders Real Madrid. Due to tournament rules the side cannot possibly be drawn against the Spaniards in the next round.
As second place finishers, Eusebio Di Francesco's side will therefore be drawn against one of the winners of the other seven groups - although they also cannot face Juventus, due to a rule separating sides from the same country from meeting in the last-16.
That leaves six potential opponents for Roma: Barcelona (Spain), Bayern Munich (Germany), Borussia Dortmund (Germany), Manchester City (England) Paris Saint-Germain (France) and Porto (Portugal).

Due to the nature of the draw, Roma's odds of being picked to face some sides are (marginally) higher than others.
For example, Manchester City only have four potential opponents in the next phase - they cannot face the three English runners-up, or the other side (Lyon) that progressed from their own group - meaning there is a 25% chance they will face Roma (or Schalke, Atletico Madrid or Ajax).
Porto, meanwhile, can face all seven runners-up from the groups they were not involved in - making it marginally less statistically probable they are drawn against Roma.
