The 19-year-old defender has been included in the U19s' matchday squad for the first time since recovering from a cruciate ligament injury sustained in September.
“I'm thrilled to be back in the squad,” the centre-back said. “I feel fine now, I've recovered. I'll need a bit more time before I'm back to my best but I'm available for selection. I'm really happy and I can't wait to be able to do my bit again.”
And what a game to come back for!
“Yeah, it's a massive game for us. We were in a similar position last year so we know what we're up against. It would be amazing if we could go through.”
How are the lads going into this game?
“They all seem really focused on the job. We know what a magnificent achievement it would be if we managed to reach the Nyon finals – up there among the best four in Europe – for a second year running. We always set out to win no matter who the opposition are. This is the top level but we'll go out there to play our game.”
What are your personal objectives now that you're back?
“I hope to stay fit and available for selection and I hope we can enjoy some success between now and the end of the season.”
