For the third year running, Roma have drawn 1-1 at Torino after initially taking the lead. The Giallorossi have now drawn with Torino 40 times in Serie A, 27 in Turin and 13 in Rome.
Apart from the 2-2 draw with Bologna, in Roma’s last ten matches in Serie A and the Champions League – four wins, three draws and three defeats – the final result has always been the same as the half-time result.
Of their 20 Serie A and Champions League matches so far this season, Roma have only failed to score twice – against Inter in Milan and against Atalanta at the Stadio Olimpico.
A 1-1 draw is the most frequent result when Roma and Torino do battle – it’s come up 22 times in all competitions. Next on the list are a 1-0 Giallorossi win (20 times) and a 0-0 draw (15 times).
After scoring against Torino on Saturday, Miralem Pjanic now has 27 goals in 161 appearances for Roma in all competitions. It means Pjanic is now joint 47th in the Giallorossi’s all-time leading scorer stakes alongside two Scudetto-winning Roma men: Aristide Coscia, the No. 10 who won the 1942 title (27 in 154 appearances), and Paulo Roberto Falcao, the talisman of the 1983 Scudetto triumph (27 in 152 appearances).
Pjanic’s goal in Turin was Roma’s 30th league goal this season after 15 rounds of matches - an average of two goals per game.
As of the start of the 2013-14 season, Roma have a win percentage of 93.7% in all competitions when they have been leading at half-time - 45 wins, three draws, no defeats.
Alessandro Florenzi made his 145th appearance for Roma against Torino on Saturday, meaning he draws level with Emerson and Francesco Antonioli – both of whom were part of the 2000-01 Scudetto-winning Giallorossi side – in the club’s all-time appearances charts.
