"The lads have stuck at it throughout and deserved to finish top of our group," said Alberto De Rossi after the match. "They treated every game with the same respect and we're really pleased that a lot of them have improved compared to the beginning of the season.
"We have the best defence across all groups and that's satisfying bearing in mind that we don't set up to play defensive football. We attack and press high up the pitch. There's a lot of good work going on behind the scenes and the boys have responded to it fantastically."
The Giallorossi took the lead in the 43rd minute through Jose Machin before Marco D’Aguanno levelled up the scoreboard for the hosts in the 79th minute.
"We need matches against top opposition to keep our focus high. We did very well in the first half, working the ball fantastically. We dropped off in the first 20 minutes of the second half and offered the opposition a way back into the game, conceding a goal that we should have avoided."
Now Roma have three weeks of rest before going into the Final Eight.
"The time off will be useful to recharge our batteries and prepare in the best possible way for the final stage. We've been through some intense months this season when we've been right in the mix – let's not forget that we weren't far off the semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League. The Final Eight is a tournament in itself, we need to be as ready as we can be and play with a lot of intensity."
