Florenzi: It's a shame the fans weren't here to see it

Alessandro Florenzi scored Roma's final goal in the 4-1 victory over Lazio earlier, his first strike in the derby. The full-back, however, revealed his disappointment at both stands behind the goal being empty

"I'd give today's derby 99 out of 100," said the Italy international. "To be honest, I didn't like the way today's derby was played. I'd be a hypocrite if I claimed everything was great. It's a shame and I can only imagine how great the win would feel with the other half of the ground full. I'm not just referring to Roma fans, Lazio supporters too, this fixture deserves better."

Florenzi produced another goal for the highlight reel with a sumptuous volley into the corner.

"I hope to continue scoring goals like that and - with any luck - sooner or later I'll finish some of the easier ones!"

Do you feel you took up Francesco Totti's mantle today?

"I don't think that's the message and that's not how I see it. Francesco will decide his own fate. Plus there's Daniele [De Rossi] - lest we forget - who would have been captain had he played today. He's a legend here along with Francesco. I just hope we don't quickly forget the past."

You've moved to within four points of Napoli. Do you sense you can compete for second place?

"We'll certainly scrap because we have to guard against the sides behind us, while not letting up on those ahead. We need to gradually creep up on them and we'll see where we are in a few games' time."
