Leandro Paredes may have only just returned to the club after a season-long loan at Empoli, but Luciano Spalletti has drafted him straight into the starting line-up for Friday’s Golden Champions Cup clash with Al-Ahly.
The Argentine midfielder, who made 33 Serie A appearances for Empoli in the season just completed, will be donning the Giallorossi shirt for the first time in a year - having made ten appearances and scored one goal for the club in the 2014-15 season.
Spalletti has named an attacking trio of Edin Dzeko, Francesco Totti and Mohamed Salah up front, with the Egyptian forward sure to be the star attraction on account of his huge popularity in the region.
