Giallorossi sporting director Frederic Massara opened Friday's press conference to unveil the club's new signing Clement Grenier, fielding questions about the midfielder in the press room at Trigoria.
Massara hailed the arrival of the France international, saying he would add depth and quality to the club's central midfield ranks.
"We've strengthened our squad with the signing of Grenier," Massara said. "He's a talented French midfielder, 26, who made his mark on the game before the injuries he faced two and half years ago, which stalled his progress somewhat.
"He's over all that now and we're pleased to welcome him here. We hope he can bounce back in style.
"Despite being young, Clement acquired a lot of experience at [former club] Lyon - where he was also captain - and had an important run in the French national team. We hope he can help us out in the closing stages of this season and the years to come."
Upon his arrival last week Grenier acknowledged that Roma were not the only club chasing his signature, but his desire had always been to sign for the capital club.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Grenier. Roma were chasing him for a long time but he had numerous offers during the transfer window and his personal preference had a big impact on the deal going through," Massara added.
"Clement brings ability and his signing bolsters an area of the pitch where perhaps we were a little short on numbers, especially given our upcoming fixtures and our targets - we want to go all the way in every competition.
"I'm sure Grenier's ability and versatility can enhance the squad in a crucial area of the pitch ahead of the end of the campaign."
