Florenzi's recovery moves on another stage

FLO

Alessandro Florenzi's rehabilitation from knee surgery reached another important milestone on Tuesday, as the Italy international started working with the football again for the first time

Florenzi put on his boots and took to the training pitch at Trigoria for some light ball-work in the morning, a development he was delighted to acknowledge on Twitter.

Florenzi suffered cruciate ligament damage after an unfortunate collision in the game against Sassuolo at the end of OCtober, but is gradually getting closer to a return to the action.

"Oh how I've missed you!" Florenzi wrote on Twitter, alongside a photograph of his personalised boots.

Florenzi continues to follow a personalised training programme, and will be monitored closely as his rehabilitation continues.

Like a number of his senior teammates before him, the 25-year-old will train with the Primavera - and likely play a game with Alberto De Rossi's Under-19 group - before he is considered for a return to Luciano Spalletti's senior squad.
