Roma 3-2 Genoa: Match report, reaction and key statistics

WLK

Roma qualified for next season's Champions League group stage with a dramatic late 3-2 win over Genoa on Sunday, in Francesco Totti's final match for the club.

On an emotional night for the team and its fans, Totti played nearly 40 minutes as Luciano Spalletti's side eventually secured the win they needed to confirm second in the final Serie A standings.

Diego Perotti scored in the final minute of normal time to clinch the win for Roma, after they had made heavy weather of the game.

Genoa went ahead after barely two minutes, before Edin Dzeko equalised soon after to restore the balance.

Daniele De Rossi then powered home with 15 minutes remaining to seemingly confirm the victory that was sorely-needed ... only for Genoa to equalise again soon after.

With time running out it appeared Roma would be condemned to third, before substitute Perotti arrived to fire home from close range and clinch a dramatic victory.

And with it, the fitting circumstances to kick off the celebration of Totti, after his 786th and final appearance for the club he has represented for 25 years.
