Di Francesco 'very satisfied' with Florenzi's return on unique night

Coach Eusebio Di Francesco expressed his satisfaction with Alessandro Florenzi's return to first-team action during Roma's friendly against Chapecoense on Friday night.

The Giallorossi ran out 4-1 winners on an emotive night at the Stadio Olimpico, as Florenzi also scored the opening goal in a game where Diego Perotti and Mirko Antonucci (twice) also got on the scoresheet.

Alan Ruschel - one of just six survivors of the Chapecoense air disaster - scored the goal for the guests, a poignant reminder of what the night was really about.

"It was an emotional night and a unique one," Di Francesco said. "To think that there are guys who survived, and seeing one of them out on the pitch [Alan Ruschel], was a unique feeling.

"It was a great night, we expected a bit of a bigger crowd but we are happy about the way it went."

What did you make of Florenzi's performance after 10 months since he last game?

"That part of things is behind him: he is training well with intensity and a real desire to be back. After 60 minutes he did not have much left but I was very satisfied with the quality and composure he showed in his play."

You used him at right back - is that the role for him?

"He is really very good out wide. For me he is also a strong option to attack from high up the pitch. In this game I used him a bit further up [than a full-back], he had the instinct to attack a bit more than to defend, but that's something we can work on. He has quality in attack, he needs to improve his defending a bit but I'm very happy with him."

How did Patrik Schick do?

"He arrived with only a bit of training in his legs and hasn't played in any friendles. He has to work hard to get up to speed with the others but he has an impressive talent that perhaps we can start to use for a few minutes in a game, depending on the situation."

Your verdict on the transfer window?

"Judging is not for me, I leave that to you all. We had many factors to think about along with the budget. I am happy with the squad I have. We have made choices, we wanted a great player like Schick and we managed to get him - now it is for me to decide how to put them all on the pitch."
