For the first time in the history of Serie A, two professional eSports players will face-off in FIFA showdown prior to the game out on the pitch.
This Saturday at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, professional eSports players from Sampdoria and Roma will take to the virtual field for a head-to-head clash - before the real-life version plays out over 90 minutes shorlty afterwards.
At 19:45 CEST, after a pitch-side presentation and exchange of shirts and banners, Sampdoria's Lonewolf92 (Mattia Guarracino) will face Roma eSports player Insa (Nicolo Mirra), in a game that will broadcast on the big screens around the ground in Genoa.
The event will be commentated on by Rampage in the Box (Ivan Grieco), who will bring the game alive for the audience as he explains the trickery and tactics on display from two of the best gamers in Italy.
It will certainly be a unique way to kick-start the evening, prior to the entrance of Eusebio Di Francesco and his squad out on the pitch ahead of the 20:45 CEST kick-off.
