Two-goal hero Edin Dzeko tonight praised Eusebio Di Francesco’s new Roma system and promised the team will only get better as the season progresses.
Roma made it two wins on the bounce – and nine straight Serie A away wins in total – with a convincing 4-0 victory against Benevento on Wednesday evening with the Bosnian scoring twice for the second time in a week.
"Every victory is worth three points, so it doesn’t matter who we play against,” Dzeko claimed after the match. “We played our game today and did well, let’s continue in this manner.
"People used to say that Roma would drop points against the lesser sides, but there are no easy fixtures. We put in a good performance today. We all need to develop together and I think we’re doing a good job of it."
You’re always at the heart of the action: do you like this system?
"Yes, I like it and the more I play, the better I feel. We’re still at the start of the campaign and I think our form will improve in the matches to come."
The postponed match against Sampdoria has had an effect, but the objective is clear: get back to the top of the league...
"We’ll play Sampdoria eventually. We want to play game after game to keep up this winning streak."
