3x3: Roma’s leading scorer, the Scudetto race and Champions League predictions

The year’s first 3x3 column sees Roma fan Alessio Ambrosetti, Marco Messina from Italian Football TV, and Sebastian from Calcio_ASRoma make their predictions for the second half of the season…

The Roma Question: Who will be Roma's top goalscorer this season?

Alessio / @AmbrosettiATX: “Although he hasn’t scored in the last couple of months, I feel like Edin Dzeko will get out of this moment and be the leading scorer for Roma again. He is the only one from Roma who is even close to being in double digits.”

Marco / @Marcocalcio22: “Dzeko. Even though everyone is going crazy right now and that Dzeko hasn't scored in a few games, I wouldn't get so caught up in this. Strikers go through times where they struggle to score, it's only normal. Dzeko has proved time again that once he starts scoring, it's hard to stop him!”

Sebastian / @Calcio_ASRoma: “It has to be Dzeko. If Schick had started playing earlier, it easily could've been him too! Despite Dzeko's recent drought you just know the second he has that ‘I'm back’ game, he'll take off again. Repeating the amount he scored last season would be close to impossible to be fair, but I expect a good number at the end of the season."

The Serie A Question: Who will win the league?

@AmbrosettiATX: “As much as I don’t like saying it, I think Juventus is again the team that is the most ready to win the title and will come out on top of Napoli this season again.”

@Marcocalcio22: “Juventus. While I will say it really could go either way between Napoli, Roma and Juve, I think Juve will take the title just because of the depth in their squad. I don't think it's talked about enough how important this is. They basically have two and a half squads, and those squads are extremely strong. I think it'll prove important come May.”

@Calcio_ASRoma: “As much I want to say Roma, we must be honest. Roma aren't completely out of the race, but for me the title picture right now is a race between Napoli and Juventus. It's a tough one to call because Napoli look even better then last season, but Juve despite that weird start are back again. Juve are always the team to beat for me though, so I'd have to say Juve if I had to pick one. But it's going to be extremely close.”

The General Football Question: Who will win the Champions League?

@AmbrosettiATX: “This one is a tough one because a lot will depend on the Real Madrid-Paris Saint-Germain game. I think whoever wins that matchup will go on to win the trophy.”

@Marcocalcio22: “I'd love to say that Roma or Juventus would win the Champions League, and as much as I'm trying to tell myself it could happen, I just don't fully believe it could. If I was betting on one team, I would say the winner of Real Madrid against PSG.”

@Calcio_ASRoma: “There's a lot of good teams to pick from. Barcelona despite the Neymar loss still look good. Real Madrid are far behind in La Liga so their concentration level in Champions League can be intensified even more. Manchester City may lack experience, but Pep as a coach doesn't, so you can't rule them out either. PSG and Bayern are also good. Juve are always in the mix. It's a very tough choice. This year can be one of the most unpredictable Champions League campaigns. For example, we already saw what Roma did with Chelsea and Atletico in their group. If I had to choose one team though, I'd go with Barcelona.”
