The Mexico international completed the switch to La Liga on deadline day, after making six appearances for the Giallorossi during his six months in the Italian capital.
In his farewell message, the centre-back acknowledged that the move had not worked out for either party - but insisted there would always be a place in his heart for the club and the city.
"It took just a few months for the city and the fans to win my heart," Moreno wrote.
"However, I didn’t play much and that’s why I decided to accept an offer from a big club in Real Sociedad, partly to ensure I’m in good form going into the World Cup. I will never forget the love the fans showed me, the professionalism of the club and the extraordinary group of players at Roma, who I wish the very best of luck.
