"I'm very happy, first of all for the win - because we needed it," Silva said. "We have a lot of big, tough games right now. Secondly, I'm happy for the trust my teammates showed in me. We need to continue like this.
"It was a game in which we needed to be balanced at the back - defending with focus and waiting for the right moment to try and score. The Italian league is one of the hardest in the word, you always have to be focused and concentrated."
The Argentina international, who joined the club from Sporting Lisbon, was pleased to be able to make an impact for his new side.
"When I arrived I was injured, but the staff and my teammates really helped me a lot," he added.
"I wanted to repay that trust, to make myself available to the boss and give him an extra option. Tactically, I had to adapt to a new playing style - but fortunately it wasn't too different from that at Sporting LIsbon."
