Florenzi: Not the result we wanted

IMAG

Alessandro Florenzi admitted Roma did not take full advantage of their chances as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Bologna on Saturday.

Edin Dzeko scored in the second half to save a point for the Giallorossi, although Eusebio Di Francesco's side perhaps deserved more after dominating much of the contest.

“It's simple: we didn't get the result we wanted," Florenzi said. "We fashioned lots of chances and Bologna set up to play on the defensive from the first minute but if you don't take your chances in this game we all know what can happen.”

He added: “It's not my place to judge how well other people played – I don't even judge my own performances! Patrik [Schick] just needs to stay calm and keep working away. The only thing I can say to the team as a whole – myself included – is that we're all going to have to do more in the coming games, be it an extra run, an extra word, or whatever.

"If we misplace a pass we have to immediately focus on helping the team. I have faith in Patrik and all my team-mates.”

Barcelona are up next. Perhaps you'll come up with something special again...

“It would be good if we could come up with the same result! It's all about the team. Bologna did nothing today: they played with six in defence and we weren't able to open up space. We need to do a bit more.

"This match is in the past now but it's not all bad. We've dropped two points but we'll keep working away and try to produce good performances and perhaps even a few surprising results.”
